How do you respond when someone asks if your pb is an iPad?

Sometimes brand names become known as the product name;

polysporin = anti-bacterial cream
kleenex = tissue
Qtip = cotton swab
iPad = tablet?

So when someone sees your playbook and asks 'hey...is that an iPad?' how do you respond?

I have had a lot of people ask me this very question and every time they have walked away saying they want a PB now.

My girlfriend keeps calling it a PlayPad. Next time, I should say "no, a play pad is what I call my apartment when your out of town...". Lol. Yeah, I won't do that...

I usually tell them it's BlackBerry's version of the Ipad (They have never heard of RIM, so I say BlackBerry), and THEN I show it off. I ALWAYS play the turtle video!

I'm on my second PB because of a situation like this. I was startled by the question and the thought of possessing anything from the darkside scared the **** out of me. So I dropped it. Luckily, my otterbox saved it from the fall, but nothing could have save it from my katana.

Hmm. With the speed with which Rim getting out updates/improvements to the pb, is it any surprise that that turtle has become the enduring symbol of the pb. (and, yes, I know about the turtle and hare but seriously, six months is a very long race)

very true...but sea turtles do live long long lives...just have to survive and make it to water after they hatch.

They look about 7''...

As answered above - the demo video that came with the pb. There is a shot of a sea turtle that looks almost 3d. I did hear that rim changed the video so maybe the turtle has been removed????

While the video includes MANY greats things, the giant swimming turtle is one of the most dramatic.....

I always go into teacher mode, and show how it connects to both of my BlackBerry's and talk about having an Internet connection everywhere without needing to pay Rogers 10 dollars to share it

usually it is the first time people have seen the playbook running because it is always the only tablet Best buy doesn't plug in!!!

Connect up to orb cast and start streaming some video. While playing video saved on my playbook at the same time. Maybe open half a dozen apps all at the same time to show the speed and how I cannot make it hiccup even if I tried.
Normally they are impressed just after seeing some high deff video.

But then throw in a couple good flash sites.
A bit of Dark space and need for speed I need a bucket under them to collect the drool.
