Default How do you manage your music on BP?

How do you manage your music on BP? Rim piggy backs on iTunes or Windows Media. I am wondering if RIM should develop their own media manager for movies, music and apps. Similar to iTunes.

Put your music on your PB using your USB cable and your PC, or download the music from the web

Edit; when I posted there wasn't a poll yet :P

I download it directly from youtube using http://youtube-mp3.org

This is not a how to thread, but how do you prefer to manage the media.

Sometimes I drag and drop from PC. I convert my CD's to MP3 and save them to my music on the PC and then when I use the Desktop Manager I can sync them to the PB.

I have a 1st gen iPod Touch, which I got before apps. Better fit for my pocket and iTunes let's me download podcast straight to the device without subscription. If I listen to music on the Playbook, I use Pandora.

Don't put music on my PB. Will look silly going for a jog with headset & PB tied to my arm. Use iPod for music.

Not really convenient if you choose to play all the songs randomly :/

This is what I use my only apple device, 160g ipod classic, to do. They have a nice media holder for all my music and I put my favorite stuff on my PlayBook.

I use bridge to transfer files from phone to playbook or vice versa. Also tbh I use apps to download music too. The playbook has a few apps that allow for this.

I come from the vinyl/cassette old school. Listen to whole albums only, because that was the only practical choice.

I have tried playlists via WMP and Zune but would still rather hear an album sequentially.

Now I no longer rip to lossy mp3 but lossless wma, but that might change because of Pacemaker.

So I d-n-d via Windows to the Music Sync folder. I no longer Zune because of my PB which has been plugged into the aux jack of jukeboxes, cars, karaoke and DJ mixers....Oh and my Klispch Pro Media 2.1s plus a few odd hdmi connectors as well.

The Zune might need a new home...maybe.

PC to PB via drag and drop. No need for anything else, especially that archaic Itunes thing I had on my pc at one time in its life.

I use USB and WiFi with both, my Playbook and my phone. I prefer listening to whole albums so any services or synchronization annoy me and I do not use it at all on any device.

anyone have a way to play flac files directly on the PB? Most of my music is live concerts in Flac format which I stream at home using a Squeezebox and store on my 60g Ipod runing Rockbox without converting to wave or any other format.

I think Pacemaker will eventually play flac but that is an expensive audio player if that is all you're going to do with it.

I found lossless .wma files wouldn't play on the PB so I converted them to .320bps mp3. Maybe it's the 25MB size or it just doesn't understand the encoding.

Back on topic, I select portions of the Windows Library and USB/WI-FI them to the PB's folders.

I have a small amount of music on my PB (16gb). So I use SugarSync on my PC and the PB to access my stored mp3s over wifi. I also have a ton of mp3s stored with the MeCanto.com cloud service and again access them over wifi from the web login or using the android app, sideloaded.

I "ripped" all my CDs (about 200 of 'em and it filled my book up!) with WMA Lossless. They play fine. My "Media Center" Playbook (the 2nd 64 gb unit) is permanently plugged into my TV, then the audio out from the TV goes into my Stereo system. Sounds great.

But the only issue is there is no random/playlist etc. yet for the Playbook. Waiting "patiently"........

Waiting for the notification that the BT media hubs for Playbook are available then I can go directly into my stereo rather than going through the TV with the HDMI cable. Then I can pick and choose from my couch....
