[CrackBerry Question]

It seems that the bb os is lacking and bb has basically walked away from it. The browser is lacking and unable to use add ons like silverlight. Many video's are unplayable.

Silverlight doesn't work even on an iPad, or any mobile device at all except for some made by microsoft.

The PlayBook has already seen is betters days already.

Silverlight is a desktop plugin, much like Java. You won't find any mobile browser capable of using it.

PlayBook support officially ended last year.

It would appear as if they have. Doesn't appear if any security fixes or browser upgrades are coming.

Some would argue that there never Was any support for the PB.

Yeah, BBRY announced end of support about a year ago (see above post). It never seemed to be a focus of support for the company from the get-go...more like an experiment on developing an OS before launching BB10. Silverlight is not supported on any mobile hardware (outside of tablets able to run full windows), and as for the playback of video on sites, it's mixed. PB has flash support (which is actually better than a number of other platforms which do not support flash at all), however I've run into my fair number of sites running a newer version of flash which is not supported on PB, so even that advantage is starting to wain. I'll keep using my PB for now, but knowing that as time goes on, the limitations of the device will continue to grow.
