Google Calender CalDav Issues
Hi
Earlier this month I found an appointment on my playbook/google calender titled: "RIM CalDAV Test 20130111".
In the description it says: "This is a test event from RIM to verify that you have write access to your CalDAV calendar."
Since then, I have been unable to add or edit appointments on my Playbook for my Google account. If I make the default calender "Local" on Playbook it will allow me to add appointments. If I then try the dropdown box to go to the gmail calender...it's just greyed out! Of course appointments added to the local don't sync with google, so this doesn't help.
I deleted the account & tried to add it again only to find it was having trouble accessing the CalDav calender.
This is getting frustrating, so if anyone is experiencing similar or has any suggestions?
Cheers

Yes have had that problem yesterday. It worked today. From Other posts it looks like it's a Google issue and it has resolved it self. It seems that it may be a maintanence issue as it seems to be sporadic.

I have Google set up this way without using CalDav and it works perfectly.
Solution:
1. No need to security wipe.
2. No need to delete existing gmail account first.
3. In Accounts select 'Add New Account'.
4. Select 'Email' option.
5. Select 'Advanced Setup.
6. Select 'Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync'.
Settings are:
Domain: google
Server: m.google.com
User Name: xxxxxxx@google.com
Email Address: xxxxxxx@google.com
Port: 443
Result:
Account setup complete with one single entry in the Accounts file.
No duplication of my contacts file.
Instant sync of Contacts, Calendar and Mail between my pb's mobiles and Microsoft Outlook on all of my LAN devices..
Now congratulate yourself and have a Brandy. - 01-26-2013, 06:48 AM #5Blackberry since before blackberry was Blackberry...

I've had nonstop issues trying to use CalDAV as well. Losing Google Sync and multiple calendar support killed me. I have 4 delegate calendars on my Gmail account I can't get to on my 9900. I tried using CalDAV on my PlayBook and Dev Alpha but had nothing but issues. Currently I have them set up as Exchange for lack of anything better. Way more trouble to set up multiple calendars than it should be.

Google sync works on your pc and not on your pb. After being told many times that it was redundant, I downloaded it onto my pc even though the official line from Google was that it was no longer supported for BlackBerry.
I can only speak for myself but I set Google up as stated in my post and it works like a dream. Outlook auto syncs with Google which auto syncs with my pb, storm II and my 9360.
Whichever device I choose to enter the data on, they are all updated. Calendar, Contacts and email and I only have one entry in my accounts file for Google.
Make your own minds up. At the end of the day it's only a processor running software and unless there are conflicts in software compatibility, then hardware will always talk to hardware. It's only a matter of 0 and 1s (zeros and ones) how simpler can it get? - 01-26-2013, 10:39 AM #11

There is no question that activesync works well.. but unfortunately when we go to setup our BB10 devices in February activesync won't be an option.. so if there's a problem with calDAV that needs to be sorted out.

There is your answer! 'BB10'! As I have mentioned previously in many threads and been chastised by mediators for, is it not about time RIM stopped being dictatorial and issued upgrades that complimented and enhanced the pb, instead of the usual 'solve it by doing a security wipe and be grateful for our upgrade''. Even though this means hours of work and having to find work arounds to overcome inadequate and mediocre coding!

Like I said in the other thread, ActiveSync works, but only as long as Google wants it to... Which will be halfway through 2013 now.
With a little luck, whatever issue it is they created with CalDav will be fixed by then.
For the time being, that works for me, just wish I could invite attendees to meetings.Need Help?
