a good stylus?
I picked up a Bamboo brand stylus for my playbook. After about a month of use the rubber shredded off the tip. Is there a better, more durable stylus that would work on my playbook???

I bought this and got it 2 or so days ago. Amazon.com: 2-in-1 Stylus & Ink Pen for iPad and iPad2, iPhone 4s, Kindle Fire, Droid Phones - 7mm (Thin Twist) Black + White + Silver (3-Pack): Cell Phones & Accessories It is horrible! Maybe it is because I have a screen protector, but I suggest staying away from it. It was my first stylus I used and it wasn't as expected. There is a flat piece of rubber inside a bubble of rubber, so it makes an air pocket. To make it worse, the rubber sinks inside so you have to pull up the tip (hoping it doesn't rip the bubble). The PB only reads the pen if you press hard while the stylus is perfectly upright, so the rubber always sinks into the pen.

I only need a Targus stylus for 1 day and returned it. It was like using a pencil eraser. Get a screen cleaning cloth and use pinch to zoom.
Why is it that when your contract commitment is up, the phone you always wanted is now old and the phone you now want won't be out until the next quarter?

Those fat tip ones are far inferior. It's a huge rip off that retailers sell them. Including our very own Crackberry. I think merchants owe it to their customers to sell quality products. I have enjoyed using it so far. - 06-10-2012, 04:57 AM #9
I bought a couple of cheap stylus's from Ebay. Five minutes use and the rubber end fell out hehehe.
I'll need to check those recommendations out above. - 06-10-2012, 05:07 AM #10
From my experience, none of these "crayons" is any better than my finger. Haven't tried Jot though I have read good things about it. If I really need to write, I would rather use my Wacom Intuos with my laptop.

I got this one for $7.99 at Amazon and it works pretty good, has smaller/finer tip than any other I have seen. A couple of my iPad and iPhone friends tried it and immediately bought one each and an Android tablet user friend bought 2 for himself after trying mine.

I use a Targus. Hasn't failed me yet. I bought a $27 stylus/pen combo at Office Depot and after the first night the tip was peeling. Returned it and got a Targus stylus for $14. No peeling and it glides smoothly over my wrapsol screen protector.

I'm liking the Rocketfish one. Don't always need it but sometimes it comes in really handy.

I picked up a couple at a dollar store for 2 bux each, both are still in great shape!
The prices are insane what they are asking for these things 15 bux and up forget it!
They are all made in China as far as I know, not paying for a 8,000% mark up because it has a name on it! - 06-10-2012, 03:48 PM #16
Have to becareful with the cheap stylus from china.
Someone bought a pack of 10 or so and only half of them worked.
Some of the rubber ends were too hard and didn't work well or at all on touch screens. - 06-10-2012, 04:03 PM #17
I went on YouTube and made my own. A bit of copper tubing and the tip of a sponge it works but I feel a stylus is useless with this device.

And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck.
It's a series of tubes. - 06-10-2012, 04:36 PM #18
I also have the New Trent Micro-Knit Technology Capacitive Stylus and love it. It glides on the playbook, great for playing games like air attack as you can move the stylus as fast as you want with no jumping or sticking. Best of all no smudges from your finger.
