With the news that 370,000 BlackBerry PlayBook tablets. were shifted in the latest report, what odds would u give for BB will give US PB owners some love and release BB10.

2.5 million userbase would be nothing to sniff at and may drive app development a bit more.

    Opinions ?

It should happen this year, but definitely not before summer. Reset your expectations on this one, I'm afraid. Don't even expect to hear more on the topic until at least May and/or until the Q10 is out.

Sadly in agree. Feeling sad on a personal level, due to waiting updates BB10 on the device as well as a new BB10 tablet.

On a business level, i feel that launching a new tablet later in the year would be more prudence, as BlackBerry needs to build a solid value proposition on top of a new tablet.

The reality IMHO is that BlackBerry will need to release a tablet as business customers will want the BB10 compliment to the smartphone.

If BlackBerry incorporates QNet. That is a certain Form of value. Toa lesser degree. We need some Killer software to really have an appeal

That's a big loss on 370,000 sold at retail almost as much as manufacturing costs! Factor in replacements at even 5%....fook!

Yeah but at least those PB's were sold, it could have been worst. Now BBRY needs to hurry with an update for us PB owners we are more than 2 million now.

It would be a fairly quick way of adding a few million users to the BB10 environment.

Boom! There's the reason to be confident they'll do it still, eventually. Those users will then have full access to whatever new BB10-only paid services that BlackBerry is planning.

(Not to mention that they won't want to keep the cost of supporting the PBOS when a "bit" more work would get them back on a single codebase.)

You would imagine one of the revenue streams for the future is in the apps that are sold. Grabbing a couple of million users to the much more extensive BB10 Blackberry World is worth having.

agreed, from a developer stand point there is over 1 million z10s in end users hands.
now if BBRY pushes bb10 to PB there is another 2.5 million people to purchass their apps

1+2.5= 3.5 + million users buying apps and enjoying their updated devices and larger app cataloge

The perception of BlackBerry has to change before such a launch. It's nice to know that this is a different company now. I would bet the next PlayBook will actually be ready at the time of its release. That being said, they need to have more confidence from consumers before pulling the trigger. Obviously, they are well on their way to getting that back.
