Found a PlayBook for $140 on Amazon. Is it worth it?
Found a PlayBook for $140 on Amazon. Is it worth it? I'm considering it, as I want to just play with BB10. But haven't been checking Craigslist pricing, and was curious if the Craigslist prices were significantly lower in the greater Miami FL area.

Yes, the price is very good and the PlayBook is great value. Amazon is the way to go.

If you just want to play with BB10, you could be waiting quite a while. It's not expected out until the summer.

Is it the 16 GB version? That's a good deal. The Playbook is a great device, I use mine everyday. If you already have a Blackberry, the Rapid Charger is a great charger to have when you are in a rush and they usually go for around 30 anyways.

I thought it was January 30th?
Also, I was looking at getting this as something just to have. I got a TouchPad as well, but figure an alternate OS would be cool to play with. Hence WebOS on the TouchPad (although it's running Android most of the time to be honest). - 01-07-2013, 03:30 PM

***Basically I just like to know about different OSes, hence wanting to get it with Playbook OS 2, and then upgrade to BB10.

KOOLROSH posted this in another thread? The press and bloggers in Dubai have started receiving invitations for the Blackerry 10 launch that will take place on Jan 30th. The article says that Dubai will probably be the first city to start the series of events because of the time zone difference.
Check out the invitation below and the source.

That's fine. Just be aware that BB10 for the Playbook isn't expected for at least another 2 quarters. The BB10 platform is being officially unveiled Jan 30, with the first phone to come shortly after.
As for the price, it depends on your answer to F2's question. To be fair, I'm in Canada where the 16GB was going for $99, so anything over that price looks expensive to me. If the US folks say that $140 is a decent price, then you'd probably be good to get it at that price. - 01-07-2013, 05:09 PM #11
I am assuming it is USED. That being said, $140 is a bit pricey.. Check ebay. I got a store demo piece (looks like brand new) for $110 with shipping. You could get a used one without box and other stuff for around $100...
Thanks,

I have to laugh at the craigslist ads here in NorCal. 16Gb for $170 used...don't these idiots do some research before posting or do they think that there is someone out there stupider than them? One guy is trying to see a used music gateway for $79. That's $30 more than new from Crackberry...
