I am Canadian, so didn't celebrate it and my town didn't fund anything for Canada Day fireworks or I would have done the same thing. Great video though, looks really good.

There's another thread somewhere where people posted some videos, myself included.

I never, ever think to use my Playbook to take pictures and videos. I'm always loading my pictures from camera to my playbook for slide shows, but I just never think of it for pictures and videos.

Both my DSLR and point and shoot failed me for my fireworks attempt. We can see our county 4th of July fireworks from my bedroom window upstairs, but since I've never attempted to photograph fireworks, I couldn't think of the proper settings quick enough. I tried, though but got only 3 decent ones out of about 40 or more attempts.

Wish I had thought to give the playbook a shot, at least for video.

Great video! I also took a few vids on my PB during 4th fireworks! They came out awesome too!

I just hoped I could upload directly through the YouTube app... not possible. I guess i could log into the website and try uploading from browser... lets see how that goes.

That will work. I shot a video of me burning my flag and uploaded it to youtbe from my PB. Plus the video came out very well. The quality was GREAT! We had rain the night of the 4th so I couldn't shoot the fireworks with it, tho...

    Here's my flag burning...

I just returned from a European holiday. On the second day I noticed I'd forgotten to recharge my camera, so I took my Playbook instead as a replacement for the day.
After seeing the results of the pic's and video that night, my Playbook replaced my camera for the rest of the trip.
Last night I merged all the clips I took into one long movie and converted Mpeg4 to AVI. Wow, I now have a 57 gig AVI file, so I just ordered a 500 gig 3.5 inch USB hard drive. I'm now thinking I should have got a 1 terabyte one, as I'll be using camera a lot more. I just love the results.

BTW, my Playbook was a big hit in Europe, most still thought it was a ipad, all were shocked at the video quality on it.

I was in the same predicament without a good camera except for the PB, so I took my Playbook on a 5k run on the 4th of July... Wasn't too bad and got a lot of comments and a few good pics. Video + jogging + heavy breathing didn't work out so well...

Here's another video I shot during the Arcata, CA 4th of July festival:

I guess when I wiped my PB, I didn't set the video back to 1080p, but it looks pretty good at 720p and sounds good too, IMO.

I took a video of fireworks too. It looks fantastic. I got a little carried away and filmed the whole show... It was half an hour long. :P
