We've just submitted version 6.0 of Files & Folders, our unified file & cloud manager, to App World for approval (update: the full and trial versions are now approved).

Major new features and important changes in this version:

NEW! Built-in streaming media player plays media files from the cloud and locally
NEW! Added Location screen. Tap the path in the title bar of any folder to jump quickly to all your cloud services, starred folders, recently visited folders
NEW! You can now hide cloud services that you do not use in the Setting screen.
ENHANCED! Many Dropbox changes
ENHANCED! Improved thumbnail view: multi-select thumbnails, file name display, selectable aspect ration
ENHANCED! Switching between detail, icon and thumbnail views is now done with a dropdown menu.
NEW! Option to disable animations from the settings screen.
ENHANCED! Visual feedback when searching inside subfolders.
ENHANCED! The online version of our Help feature has a Google Translate option.
ENHANCED! We now also publish a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Update: we're thrilled to have been voted Best New BlackBerry App of 2012!

Hopefully the login issue I was having in v5.0 with Dropbox is resolved in v6.0

You had me at "streaming media from the cloud." I can't wait for this. I rather be using this app then the other ones I've even using to stream media from the cloud. I can't wait for the update!

Does streaming media from the cloud include media that's stored in Box?

Yes, as long as Box is fast enough to keep up with your media. Unfortunately the performance of cloud services varies considerably. Audio seems to work fine, video works too as long as your the bitrate isn't too high. YMMV.

Whoo Hoo! I was just wishing for some of this stuff yesterday. Thanks you for all your hard work for PlayBook! You really add a lot to the experience. I will be putting these new features to good use in my presentations the second it is live!

Great app! Use it constantly! Cloud intwgration makes it - and Playbook - extremely useful. One question: is there a way to save my sort preference? I mostly use date/descending so I can quickly find downloaded content. It would be great if it stayed that way.

Sort order is maintained when you navigate within the app, but is not remembered when you exit the app. It's a good suggestion. We'll add it to our wishlist.

Excellent application and a much needed one, thanks to the cloud services integration it is one of the most used apps on my PlayBook. Thank you for making a real winner of an application.

Can't wait to download the new version & try out the streaming feature.
