Epub reader not working with 1.0.7?
So I updated Bridge today on my phone, and then received the 1.0.7 OS update on my PB. After updating both and doing resets on the PB and phone, I cant seem to get Epub player to open any of my books.
I have reset the PB again, deleted all E-books from the app, loaded them back on...didn't work. Deleted them all from the PB completely and transferred them one at a time back on, testing to see which would open in Epub reader. None of them are working (including the book which I have been reading all week and only have 5 or so chapters left to read!!).
Has anyone else had this problem since updating to the new OS? Should I connect the PB to my computer and try to reload the previous OS? - 07-19-2011, 03:07 PM #3

Will give it a couple of days to see if a fix is released. Guess I'm going to have to pick up a hardback in the meantime!

Leave it to RIM to break an application with a simple point release to the operating system and operating environment of the BlackBerry PlayBook. Seriously, who is in charge of BlackBerry PlayBook development at Research In Motion? I enjoy ePubReader but now it is broken. Bad move RIM.
On a related note, and if RIM is partnering with Kobo and Adobe then demand that Adobe develop a version of its Adobe Digital Rights Management software for the tablet rather than requiring me to use a computer running Microsoft Windows.Thanked by:screamlordbyron (07-20-2011)

An update for ePub Reader has been released on July 21, 2011 which addresses the issue with BlackBerry Operating System & Operating Environment v1.0.7.2670. The developer has been very responsive and deserves much appreciation.

Nice to see such a quick response by the developer.
Curious to learn what sources everyone is using for ebooks. I have a Nook for my reading which can open DRM-protected content, so that will get the most use from me. But I'd really like a way to view magazines and children's books in color on my PB.
