Epic Networking STRESS!!!!
Aaargh!!!!
I have never had any problems before and in the last 2 days my wireless network has gone odd
5 Devices:
Laptop (W7 Premium)
Desktop (W7 Ultimate)
NAS (Lacie Netspace2)
PlayBook
Router (Netgear N300)
Laptop and desktop share to each other fine.
Both 'see' the PLAYBOOK but will not connect
Neither 'see' the NAS yet it is available for media sharing and streaming
The PlayBook error is:
"Windows cannot find \\PLAYBOOK"
I know there are threads on this here already which I have tried but still no luck
I Have removed and reset all security settings, restarted ALL devices and equipment, Manually searched to add network location and manually set IPs in case of conflicts.
The NAS is just not mounting. I guess that is a Lacie issue but it seems odd this occurred at the same time.
I have altered network security on the Router and tried different settings but again, that did not work.
I am getting so worked up that this is getting me nowhere.
I need help!!!!!
Please!!!!

With the latest update the PB no longer responds to either LLMNR (Link-local Multicast Name Resolution) or NBNS (NetBIOS Name Service) queries.
To connect you have to use \\ip-address (i.e \\192.168.1.10) to connect to the PB. - 08-23-2011, 09:23 AM #4
I have a teething constipated 1 year old with a fever. I slept about 4 hours last night. Come over here you will forget all about that network.
What the others said should work for you. I had problems connecting even before the last updated and that worked for me. Sometimes it would connect other times not. Using this method it always works.
