I just returned from Italy and my Playbook would receive my cogeco email but would not send out replies. Mycogeco.ca usually worked using Google on my Playbook though. Is there anything I can do to allow my Playbook email work?

Your playbook was trying to send an email using the cogeco smtp server from outside their network. Most service providers will not allow that.

A work around that sometimes work is to use your cogeco username and password to identify yourself to the smtp server. i'm not sure if the mail client on the playbook offers this option.

Thanks for your idea. I will follow up with cogeco.

Also, some providers have a web-based email site for you to use when away from home or at any free wifi spot such as Starbucks etc.

Yep - that's my experience as well .... you're better off using the web based version of the email site when traveling overseas imo.

Or just adopt gmail or hotmail and not worry about it anymore.
