Don't walk but drive very fast to your local Office Depot
UpdateDon't walk but drive very fast to your local Office Depot, because ....................
I just purchased a NEW 64GB PlayBook over the phone at a store 10 miles from my house in Pennsylvania for $199.99 + tax.
Here's is my True story. (So far)
I have been looking at the Office Depot web page off and on all night last night and I did see that my local store had two 16gb and one 64gb playbook in stock.
So this morning I called the store and they told me that they had one 64GB unit left then I heard her fumbled around some papers and she said...............................
The price is $199.99, I was a little shocked. I said to the lady "are you sure that is the price as it sounds like a 32gb price", she reply's........... Yes they are $100.00 off and the price is $199.99.
I almost kissed the lady through the phone. I then asked "can you hold if for me", she tells me that they are not permitted to do tht and then she said that I can purchase it over the phone and then come to pick it up at the store. So that is exactly what I did, I made a phone purchase for $199.99 + tax.
I'm leaving very shortly to go pick it up and I will update this post when I get back and maybe talk to the folks here on Crackberry to see if it is worth my while to root.
Wish me luck.
UPDATE
Just got back from Office Depot and it is a 64gb and it was 199.99

I just called and it's indeed true all office Depot the PlayBook will be on sale until Saturday.
I'm going to get mine now but I have a question for the OP. Does the PlayBook you bought have a slight bulge in the back? When sat on a table can you easily spin it?
I've heard the ones with the bulge were made with cheaper parts and are more prone to issues.
I'm going to bel air md to get mine. I would call first to make sure they have some 64 in stock
ill race you there!!!! 123 Go!!!!
Update : the guy told me they even have accessories in the clearance section.

I had been watching the PB prices for some time and our local Staples store had one left, a 32Gb model for $199. I held back on purchasing it until I saw the Office Depot flyer this Sunday listing the 64Gb model for $199. I pounced on it.

Just checked their main website. Seems if you look at their specials, they only have the 16GB listed for $30 off. But, if you go into the overview portion and look at the accessories tab, it'll show the listing of a 64GB as regularly $249, from which you can save $50 for a total of $199. I'll have to call tomorrow and see if there's any in stock at the one close to where I live. Unfortunately, the buy online button is not available for this price. Good for 8/19-8/25. This will make 5. The wife's gonna be mad for sure if there's any available.

Got mine and I'm already loading it with music and hd videos, something I could barely do with my 16 gig

Turn them both off and hold them on a angle in the light and look for a different color in the screen. The ones with the cheaper parts have the slight bulge and a blueish tint on the screen compared to the good ones.
If you have a bulge and a blueish screen as opposed to black I would take it back. It's rumored that these were the ones that had the over heating and battery issues with the. 688 build.Last edited by BB-Bmore; 08-21-2012 at 12:26 AM.

I got a 16GB for $169. Didn't have the 64 model in stock. Good deal anyways. So now most of my family will have a playbook. Next step a BB10 phone

I am really close to purchasing a 64gb right now. There are still 2 in stock at a local OD store. But the return policy has gotten me worried and also the previous posters regarding the 64gb cheap materials used. Should I take the risk knowing that once I open the product from OD, I won't be able to return it?
