    Default Don't own a blackberry

Would buying the Playbook matter, I already have a Ipad2 but would like something smaller to carry.

If you are in a wifi hotspot at work or at McD or B+N etc the PB will allow one to surf the net just like any wifi tablet if not better. You can use web-based e-mail just like a pc or watch movies/videos just like any wifi device. Some downloaded apps still work without wifi and some native apps too

At the moment, the playbook (pb) does not have any calendaring, contact or native email. It relies on a bbphone for those functions. If you NEED those then the pb is probably not for you. But as suggested, if browsing, watching videos or WEB-based-email works for you than it might be okay. There are a number of threads listing the limitations of the current device and its current OS. OS2 maybe expected in Feb might change things.

Thanks both of my phones are rooted so having access to wifi when not at work or home or areas that have free wifi is not a problem.

I agree. At the discounted price that they are at now it is definitely worth it.

Yeah I placed a order @ the blackberry store and used the $10.00 off code that someone posted. I always have my phones with me so contact and calendar are not a issue just wanted something smaller when I'm out and about at work. I did buy one when they first came out but exchanged it for a Android tablet but @ the current price cause me to revisit the Playbook again. I'm looking forward to getting it and this time I plan on keeping it
