Does Your PB Function the Way You Want it to?
I've had my PB since November 2011 and over all I am very happy with it's functionality especially after the OS 2.0 update. Besides the occasional browser crash (5 or 6 times since I've had it) and I got a headache setting up email and calendar. Other than that things have been running quite well. Oh yeah I did have to have my charger replaced because the locking mechanism that holds the plug in the PB broke, but RIM sent me a rapid charger instead of replacing the one that came with the unit free of charge.

It's great except for the annoying browser crashes. It would also be great to have background services implemented for third party apps like IM+ or Facebook.

I bought mine two days after OS2 was launched, and have been adding apps and tweaking since. Still just playing with it, and haven't really used it to its full potential yet. Very happy I bought it...especially for the price of a fire!
(does that qualify as "fire sale" pricing?) - 03-15-2012, 04:23 PM #5
Yes!
Did my homework prior to buying back in Sept(lots of reading here in CB) and no complaints thus far. - 03-15-2012, 04:24 PM #6
The playbook has done exactly what I have needed it for since I bought it in October 2011. The enhancements of 2.0 made it better. I am sure that future upgrades will increase the personal value to me.
Are there things that can improve? Absolutely. Being human, we will always want more than what we have and want our devices to do more than they do. The playbook meets my needs for a tablet.I hope this helps. - 03-15-2012, 04:25 PM #7
YES, I'm enjoying my PlayBook and OS2.0 as well as the previous OS1.0, I think largely because I didn't set my expectations to a unobtainable level. My PlayBook is operating smooth and fluent, and 99% of the "hiccups" was fixed with a "HARD RESET". It's been running smooth since May......knock on wood (knocking)

Yes with the exception of Adobe Reader. If we could get a pdf reader that would allow me to bookmark, I'd be one totally happy camper.

Ive only had mine since Monday but being a BB fan I've kept track of it since its release and was on the fence with the price drop and os2 I would have been crazy not too. But to answer your question. Yes, so far its worked the way I've wanted it and expected it too.

Why are the categories so black and white? The PB functions mostly the way I want it to, but not totally, and right now there are no apps that can fix the few remaining shortcomings. But overall, I'm very pleased. I have not responded to the poll because there is no category for my response.

Not sure what kind of tweaking can be done but I'll say yes for the most part. Still need Skype and Netflix though and all will be well.

The 64gig is a beast that I command. It also decorated my office by allowing me to use my netbook and laptop as a pair of bookends. This is a true working professional tablet that replaces other devices. There see I didn't even say anything bad about apples new to for once.

It was a joy before the OS upgrade; with OS2, it's absolutely orgasmic.

Bought it last july, at full price and didn't regret it. Does everything that I need it to: Recording HD video, taking pictures, editing excel and word documents. Even a few high quality games.
The size is perfect. I would look like a complete tool using "an unnamed colourful 9.7 inch" device to record footage during my travels through west Africa.
Definitely the best piece of technology that I own.Curve 8520: FREE on a 3 year contract, Playbook 16GB: $499, Not falling for the i-hype...priceless.
