It seems most threads are happy about the full Playbook access to the web when bridged. I would like to allow only the Bridge apps to be able to have internet access (primarily bbm). I don't have a large data plan and already get near my maximum with my Torch 9810. Is there a way to ensure that the Playbook native apps won't work when connected via BIS while bridged?

    Aside from not using them?

Email will only work when bridged or an active wifi is detected. Other apps that check for updates will only do so when wifi is detected and or opened.....so don't open them via bridge.

Your safest plan would be to disable bridge when not using it. Then you know for sure. This also saves your batteries a little bit...on both devices.

Would disabling Dial-up Networking under Bluetooth Options on your BB Torch accomplish this? Just wondering...

If you are at home connect to your wifi on the playbook. Turn mobile network off on phone. Bridge. Its sort of a work around, not really a solution.
