Default diff between standby and being used

    Hello,

In my playbook there is no difference between standby and using it. I loose battery in the same rate even if its in standby. Fully charged pb goes to fully drained in about 6 hours even if its on standby. Now I just power off in between my usage to save the charge. Any one else had this issue ?

Are you using Native email? If it is set to manually collect mail, that is a known battery drainer.

No, I don't have that issue. My PB could probably go a couple of weeks on standby.

So your email/calendar/contacts are set to manual?

If so, set them to sync (any interval).

You may also want to disable GPS location for apps.

Anyway, mine drains only 3-4 % overnight even with Wi-Fi on (BT off).

Will try to disable sync completely. Also my pb gets hot even during standby. Its ok to get hot if I am using it. But if it gets hot even on standby, I wonder if there is anything preventing the pb from going into standby. The display goes off, I am not sure how else to check it.

No, you don't have to disable sync. Just set it to anything other than "manual".

And yes, the heating in standby is probably related to the drain when sync is set to manual. I had the exact same problem when I set my email/calendar sync to manual.

Have many email accounts do you have? If they were not too hard to setup, you could remove them for a day and see what happens. I tried the Manual mode and my battery dropped about 70% overnight. I have since gone back to total Bridge email. I still have calendar on sync.

Interesting as I am on manual now and my pb dies after a few hrs of leaving it by it self. I also noticed that even on manual it would sneak out and get some email msg anyway. Guess I need to try some other options as this is getting really bad, and annoying.

Mine did it too. it used to fetch mail when ever I come out of standby.

Have disabled sync for mail and cal. Only contacts are in sync. Will see how long the juice lasts in standby

My playbook looses no power overnight....because one of the last things I do is plug in the rapid charger so I can use the playbook throughout the whole day without worrying if it will last.
    I hope this helps.

After I disabled manual sync, all is back to normal. I no longer loose battery on standby. Thanks for the time and replies
