It Died!
Got it new 3 weeks ago at Office Depot. Used it this morning before leaving for work and put it in standby. Came home from work, tried to use the browser but got the error msg stating it was not able to find the requested server. Tapped to restart, said it was restarting but it just powered off. Now it wont power on, no led when connected to charger and pc does not recognize it when connecting the usb. Suggestions?
Was really considering getting 2 more PBs for gifts.

Nothing. PC does not detect it at all.

Well the next step I would do is leave it on the charger overnight. Have you tried that already?

I feel for you. Sounds defect. I'd look at getting it RMA'd through RIM. I understand that it's typically a 5 day turn around time if you're in North America.

I've had this problem before. Try a hard reboot (hold down power, volume up, and volume down buttons for 10 seconds or so, until the red LED turns on, and if it doesn't then wait a few seconds and press the power button). That fixed it for me.

That's the exact same error message I got and I did the same, restart from menu and nothing. I tried the overnight charging and various stack charging then phoned support. They told me the advice to stack charge is outdated and theyno longer recommend as it can cause damage to the battery when that may not have been the issue. In fact when mine died I'm sure it was over 90% charged. Anyway I sent it back for repair last Monday, and according FedEx tracking its on its way to me now.

First, take the pb into a dark closet to see if the screen is fully BLACK and off. If not, press the power button and see if it changes the screen's lighting. If totally off, leave it OFF and try plugging it into the computer usb with DM running. Any update message - it can appear quickly on the computer screen.
If it failed, can you still return it to the store?
Good luck. - 12-03-2012, 09:57 AM

OK, this is weird. After messing with it for an hour last night, trying to get it to power on, I came to the realization it was bricked. I just let it sit overnight without charging and this morning its back to life!

Re: It Died!
Well that's a bit odd. Glad all is working correctly again. Are there any signs of something weird going on with it or is it back to normal like nothing ever happened?

The only other thing weird with the device, which I posted a while back, is the only bluetooth device it'll connect to is my 9900.
