I have it plugged in with the normal blackberry charger that came with my phone and it's taken me like 3 hours to get 15%... I guess something is wrong?
The charger is not very powerful as after it reaches 100% if you turn your PB on it can go from 100% to 95%. SO the charger will hardly keep up with the power required to run it.
Hmmm... The PlayBook doesn't seem to charge when it's OFF. I had it plugged in for 1 hour and it didn't move. As soon as I turned it ON, it started charging. Is this normal?
This is pretty crappy. Just got home from work and didn't think to charge it while I was there. It's at 10% and I have it plugged in with the wall charger but I need 20% to update.
So you are telling me that if the battery is completely drained, we can't charge the playbook anymore? I doubt that. Residual power or not, that doesn't make sense.

No this is normal. A regular Blackberry charger outputs 700 mAh of current. The Playbook charger is 1800 mAh, so I think it will take forever to charge with the regular charger.
My battery hasn't reached 100% charge yet and it's been plugged in and on for 4 hours. It got stuck at 95% for over an hour... now it's been at 97% for over an hour.
It's getting annoying. I'm using an amazing portable device yet I can't get portable with it because I've been tethered to the power outlet for over 4 hours.

To confirm what Alex338 said - Actually, in the Playbook manual, it lists 'approved' chargers for the Playbook, and my Torch charger is NOT one of them. The Playbook charger is different from the regular phone chargers. (It's also fatter...)
I posted this elsewhere but it may help here also. I found a charger/data cable solution called CSQUID for my blackberry a few months back that also fast-charges my playbook from the PC USB port. It had a mini-USB and micro-USB connectors and so worked for all my devices - it transfers data for my backup harddrive cable and USB DVD cable!
Here are some of the key measurements
- blackberry charge time from PC 1 hour and 10 mins
- playbook charge time is about 3 hours which is same as the wall adapter
- transfer data at USB 2.0 speeds
- charges even when PC is asleep which is convenient
The one negative on it is that the cable is not as flexible as some of the other cables but then that may be to handle the higher current and the quality is TOP NOTCH - unlike some of the cheap made in china stuff that I have seen!
Just did a seach for CSQUID on AMAZON and it is still on there..(I paid $20 for it but the new price is $25...not that big a deal)
