'Can't do Email'
So I got mine yesterday, and I really like it.
My wife saw it and grabbed it out of my hands. Unfortunately she didn't know that the Playbook can't do email. So the first thing she did was go to Yahoo in the browser and open her email !
It's really a shame that the product lacks email like this.

It does webmail just fine...but not corporate email. Even though it does webmail, I'd still like to see a native app rather than always logging in the web-side.
What I did was forward all my email's to my gmail account, so I can still access my student email through the school.
I have 3 different email addresses pointed to gmail, it will work for now...but I'm still waiting for the magical PIM update. It's the beginning of the end because I am as stealthy as a kitten in mittens.

Yeah, the soft input panel needs some work...I think Kevin pointed that out in his review...I'm pretty sure they'll implement auto correction and fix some other things in good time.

Just bought mine yesterday also, I really like it. Was surprised not to see an email client where you can have your pop3 mail. Hope they make changes, do not care too much for the personal emails. I was the first at office depot yesterday to ge the 64 and they only had one of each in inventory.

i guess i walked right into that one didnt i? lol.
Seriously though, im used to flying through messages on my torch and past devices with perfect punctuation and mostly flawless spelling. im used to laughing at iphone users and their ridiculous typos. now i see errors and i shrug them off because going back to fix them is kind of a chore.
i have discovered that its really just the browser that doesnt have the shortcuts.. thats kind of puzzling.
anyway.. it still begs why anyone just has to have email so bad. even when the red notifier goes off, i still go to my torch to read it...cause what if it needs a reply? - 04-20-2011, 11:45 AM #10Sent from one piece of tech or another.

I definitely get what you are saying. I think (fingers crossed) that there is much that will be updated over the course of the next few months. For example:
- I can't hide completed tasks in the task app.
- I can't edit the name or URL of bookmarks.
- E-mails take way too long to be marked as read.
There are several other relatively small but glaring omissions throughout the OS that I hope will be addressed soon.
