Can you turn off your Playbook without pushing the off/on button?

I know how to turn on the Playbook without pushing the off/on button.

But I don't know if there is a way to turn off the PB without pushing the off/on button.

Yes...on the ALL tab, there's an icon for power off/restart.

This will turn the PB off, not standby.

Remember, the PB won't charge when it's off.

Yes. As of OS 1.0.1.1710, there is a Power Off app.

I believe the button was there in the original 1690 firmware.

You plug it in and it turns on. Although, I have read about PB's getting bricked because of it dying. I've had mine die fully twice and both times I plugged it in and it turned on and started charging.

It did out of the box. When it forced me to update out of the box, I had WiFi problems and went to restart it and the "Stand By" option was there. Once it updated it was gone.
