    Default Browser much better now

Anyone else notice the browser is much more responsive to touch and faster overall? Just feels more polished.

I still get an annoying lag when I visit some pages, then I keep refreshing it loads properly. Does it matter if private browsing is enabled, I did have the issue before enabling it

Browser is much improved. But the prior browser was miserable, so I'd say they finally brought it up to minimum standards.

I wouldn't say that its at minimum standards... The PlayBook Browser has been hailed by even people who dislike it, it was its best feature.

Check html5test.com and you will see that the Browser (the current one on PBOS 2.0 is superior to almost all other browsers.

you don't get what I mean. I'm not saying that the newer browser isn't better than the previous version. I said I agreed.

    What I am saying is

1- The previous browser wasn't $#1T (Its true, in all bad playbook reviews, they agree the browser was goob)

2- The current Browser is now not just "brought up to minimum standards", but its acctualy very good by its rating on html5test.com

Minimum standards means equals or surpasses useful performance levels. Perhaps you're right and it's now better than most. Point is the prior version was well below usability minimum.

Does anyone know what the small book icon is that shows up in the browsers page title bar?

Was playing around with the browser and it is definitely better than the previous version. However, I noticed the pull down menu is very sluggish. I was trying to open a new tab while I am waiting for the page to load and its not responding to my gesture. It seems like its putting its priority to the browser loading page first. Which I think it needs to be improved.

Little by little folks... they are working on it... I am sure that we will be seeing a bunch of updates coming up for all the apps. I am excited that Dolphin Web Browser is there. I wanna see Flip Board come on the PlayBook...

I think that little book icon is similar to the reading view on the ipad at least I know that's what it does for me.

If you're reading an article (and I think an article that has an RSS feed) you can click that button after the page has loaded. The article then shows up in the overlay, and removes everything else on the page. It basically restricts the page to what you want to read.

When you're done reading, you just click it again and you're back to where you were.

Yes, the book icon activates some sort of reader mode. If you tap it, it brings up the mode to the forefront.
