Have you swiped down from the top while in the Browser and found the setting for how many days to keep browser history. Look under Privacy and Security and you can keep history for up to 30 days. If you want to save a site for longer you can bookmark it and even keep it on one of your main screens.

I'm guessing that you have Private Browsing turned on. If so, the browser won't keep your history.
