Bridged PlayBook - Internet priority to wifi or bridge?
Hey everyone,
When an OS2.0 PlayBook is bridged and wifi is connected to the PlayBook, which Internet connection takes priority over the other. Wifi or bridge?
I know with OS 1.x bridge had its own browser, but with OS2.0 it shares the same browser on both.

Wifi takes priority, you can tell because if the internet is down, the PB will fail to connect to web sites because the Wifi connection is good. In general, you can leave it bridged all the time.

Ermmm... wifi will take priority EXCEPT if you are trying to connect to a wifi "hotspot" with a PB that is bridged to a BB phone. In that case, the PB will continue to use the bridge connection to the internet unless you disable the bridge. Some have posted that as soon as you close the bridge, the hotspot wifi will be used AND continue to be used after the bridge is reenabled. My experience at Starbucks & other hotspots is that as soon as I reenable the bridge, the wifi connection is replaced by the bridge connection. I regard this as a bug. Others have argued it is deliberately designed this way but I find this to be unacceptable and should be fixed.

I disagree, i do not see the behavior you are describing. I stay bridged to a BES BB all the time. I can tell by the speed difference which connection is being used. You can also see it by looking at whatismyipaddress.com.

J Hanks,
I'm on BIS. It works quite differently from BES. The behaviour I described is well documented in other threads here in the forum.Patrick from Calgary
