Bridge basic questions
Hopefully someone can answer these questions regarding Bridge functionality:
(1) Is there a way to see saved email messages (that are on the blackberry) on the Playbook?
(2) When playing MP3's (that are on the blackberry) on the Playbook over Bridge, it seems it is not possible to fast forward on the Playbook?
(3) Is there a way to open videos (that are on the blackberry) on the Playbook via Bridge? - 05-04-2012, 08:52 PM #2
this is my experience - one of the more technical members may be able to give you better information
1) only if you have Bridge Messages enabled
2) I think you are right - how strange!
3) the video's won't play over Bridge (not sure if BlueTooth could handle that amount of bandwidth anyway)
Hope this helps!BigAl_BB9900
devices:
BB9900 (Orange UK) - 7.1.0 Bundle 2061 (v7.1.0.714, Platform 5.1.0.532)
PlayBook 64Gb - 2.1.0.1314 (and another spare PB 64Gb)
and a Doro345gsmPAYG for everytime the new BB9900/Orange3G knacks up.... (btw Doro make great simple big-button handsets for seniors and for those of us with reduced feeling in our fingertips.....) - 05-05-2012, 12:05 AM #3
For #3 if your around wifi you can install jeeosuit on your blackberry then you can play video from hour blackberry. Jeeosuit is free.
It's one thing for the world to think your a dullard and another to open your mouth and remove all doubt. - 05-05-2012, 09:29 AM #5

I installed JeeoSuite on the BB and Playbbok as suggested but this setup just didn't work well for videos. It was slow, choppy and caused the PB to reboot within 30 seconds. This is probably not a good way to play movies that are stored on the BB on the PB. A better way might be to just transfer the files from the BB to the PB but you might end up multiple files on multiples devices.
So it seems there is no way to visualize messages that are saved (saved folder of the BB) on the PB. There is no way to fast forward MP3's that are on the BB on the PB and the PB cannot play video's over Bridge either. Also, I noticed PB cannot open HTM files that the BB opens with ease.
Other than viewing regular emails, calendar and using the BB data for PB internet browsing, Bridge seems to have many limitations... bummer!Last edited by alment; 05-06-2012 at 05:35 PM.
