Hi I'm just setting up my Playbook for thefirst time and have downloaded the BOX app from Blackberry world but I keep on getting an error when loging in. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I had Box installed on my Playbook for quite a while, but haven't used it in a long time. Just fired it up to give it a shot and it would not longer load. I assume Box is no longer supporting the very outdated app that was on the playbook.

You could always just use the browser, but I know that is not the solution you were looking for.

Box is a mess on the PlayBook now. It will only work if you create a new account and NEVER log out. That being said, apps like Files and Folders cannot access Box on the PlayBook anymore either.

Since I already own Files and Folders, I went the SkyDrive (OneDrive) route, got 15GB free and use Files and Folders to access.

Could always try sideloading the Android app, as well:

I can confirm that the sideloaded Box works quite well on my Playbook.

Probably best to connect to Box, Dropbox etc through X-Plore . It's a sideload but works on the latest APK version on conversion to Bar. There us another thread in X-Plore with links to Bar I think

I found Xplore version 3.60.01 on apk2bar.org. Installed it and it seems to work. Excellent.

Ran into this issue sometime ago OP, sideloading Box back onto the PB fixes your issue.

Sideload Dropbox also and compare the two, you may like Dropbox better.

I am using version 1.8.1.1 but please don't ask where I got it because I don't remember but I usually get my side loads from apk2 bar or good e-reader -- sorry!! Anyway I don't use it much, but I just checked it again and it works fine.

FWIW, I actually use X-Plore File Manager, as mentioned above, to access Box. It will allow you to access multiple Box accounts if you have them (I do) and will also will allow you to stream media stored in Box (the android app will only download, then open media). In addition, it can access SkyDrive, DropBox and a few other cloud services (GDrive doesn't work with it on the PB). It's also a pretty decent file manager somewhat similar to Ghost Commander. For working Box functionality, you'll need one of the later versions of X-Plore.
