Blackberry UK TV Commercial
Anyone see the new BlackBerry TV commercial on UK TV last night? I thought it was quite eye catching, but didn't really make it ever so clear exactly what was being advertised. (It showed the Z10, but didn't mention it by name). I guess as a general 'raising awareness of the BlackBerry brand' excercise, it should be quote effective...
What does anyone else think? - 02-07-2013, 11:48 AM #2
Yes I saw it. I wouldn't say it was bad but it didn't excite me or convince me to look even further into bb10. To me it said " we need to tell people about bb10 but don't spend any money doing it".
I have seen far better advertising for Walkers Crisps than BBs advert.
Ironically while I have been typing this, there has been an advert in ITV for the Samsung Note II. I don't like the product but the advert was vibrant exciting and made me feel like it was worth a further look.
Take your pick on which company will survive in 2013? - 02-07-2013, 01:00 PM #4
I don't think this is the one you speak of since i first fd. (during a search) on a dated 2012 blog, but still seems to be here on a BB page with 2013 cr.

I think BB has to be pretty careful with its advertising. The company has been derided by so many for a few years now and they need to slowly build the brand up. If they take too radical a stance, they leave themselves open to going too far and increasing the negative sentiment against them. Awareness raising is the marketing phase they are at now. They have a good brand already, now they are named Blackberry. They have a strategy in place and are working towards building back and up their credibility. Its a slow process but would rather see a more cautious approach versus letting it all hang out to make an impression. As well alot of these commercials and adverts would have been done well before the launch of BB10 and they would have been cautiously optimistic about BB10 and the Z10 so this reflects in what we are seeing. If Z10 sales catch on enough to make an impression in the marketplace, we will probably see a different ad focus. Remember, they really are aiming at the great unwashed, not the Crackberry faithful at this point. Never take your audience for granted!! They got us already.

I'm a real deadringer for love...
Kinda ambivalent to brandy, and not truly feeling the love for dead-animal-liver-paste. I'm a simple man with simple needs. Some would say cheap - I'm quite partial to twiglets for party snacks.
Truth be told, I only engage in alcohol on rather rare, well-spaced out occasions. I'm not quite there, yet, with have-liver, will-pickle. But I am willing to learn...
Indeed! (Said in a very David-Lo-Pan-esque manner). - 02-07-2013, 02:31 PM #9
Well I just went on YouTube and this is in the Page but that might have to do with me searching for bb10 BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone - BlackBerry 10 Touch Phone - United Kingdom.

At one point there I was going to ask you to marry me and have my babies!
However forget that and get thee.behind me Satan!.
"I only engage in alcohol on rather rare, well-spaced out occasions." this is where you lost me and we got divorced. Don't get me wrong I do drink coffee but despite how good the coffee is, it can always be improved by brandy. The other thing is, what's with the big words. I don't do big words because I'm thick! Wot does anbivilant mean anyway?
Do you like Blackpuddings? - 02-07-2013, 02:47 PM #11
Oddly, I've nothing to argue with, there.
Whisky, too.
It's kinda like one of those mood lights that gives off pleasant whiffs - so I hear, at least.

Like the moonlight thingie, I must look around for one of those. Does it work on thick people like wot I am. As far as the food is concerned I can tell your going to be a difficult one. Obviously you are a connoisseur of the fine things in life.

I think we're both right. It has and it hasn't dependant on your point of view and is solely based on the released date of bb10 this is what RIM has done to us mere mortals over the past two years. We were quite normal until then, in fact I actually do have a document that was signed by a Wing Commander in the Royal Air Force that states, 'This officer is of sound mind and completely normal. And can be returned to flight status immediately.
Before anyone says anything, no I didn't pay him to say that and to be honest I didn't believe him then or now! - 02-08-2013, 08:50 AM #17

Whoooaaaa up there partner! 'happy old man' when did this happen? I can assure you that there is non of that nonsense in my life. Never, well not often, well maybe sometimes if the company is good and the brandy is worth drinking, but don't get carried away with that word 'happy'. Very dangerous word that!
I only have two hats, a Ushenka from Moscow and an Australian Bush hat. You don't need a hat by the way to come to the party. - 02-08-2013, 01:29 PM #21
My Nan used to carry a letter from her doctor that stated something along the lines of: "This lady isn't mad, it's a side-effect of her medication causing her to act like she's completely off her trolley."
She was quite proud of her "I'm not mad!" letter. (Bless
) ... And it's true that not many folk have written proof that they're not!

I on the other hand am quite proud of the fact that I am insane and object vehemently to anyone telling me otherwise, even if he was a Wing Commander psychiatrist or whatever those long words are that they like to use.
Meanwhile just to keep in touch with the thread, while I was just topping up my glass I listened to an advert on UK TV.
' Upgrade your phone to a Samsung Note II and get a Samsung Galaxy tab II free '
Are they doing a blackberry?
