As far as I know, you can restore your installed apps by going to appworld and then look for the my world tab. Of course you need to set up your blackberry ID again to avail this service. As for the others like blackberry news, music store, etc, their availability depends on your region and as such, if they are not available, you need to manually look for the bar files and sideload them using the playbook app manager add on for chrome (you can find the details about this in the playbook main page).

If you connect it to your PC you can reset it and if you have a backup on the PC you can do the same. Also BlackBerry App World will save your apps but not how they were. Purchases don't have to be repeated

I was about to say just reinstall the OS and setup your PlayBook using the same BBM ID and you can start reinstalling your previous apps and games but others have already said that... so, I will not repeat them...

I believe he is saying that it is missing the stock applications and icons, not his purchased/downloaded items and that he needs to know how to factory reset it to restore to stock.

Like what others has just recommended, just reinstall the OS and if it is done properly, those missing stock icons should be available then...

But again, since others had already stated that approach, I will not repeat them anymore...
