Hi everyone...I'm new to the forum here. I have had my PB for about a month now, and being a corporate BB user, it has been an absolute godsend.

I'm now starting to watch movies on it as well while I'm working out, but the only way I've found to get movies on it is through Ether's most excellent movie thread. (thanks again Ether!!)

My question is...how can I load my own movies (both DVD and BluRay) to the PB? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Rip them with Handbrake. Copy them to PB via WiFi Sharing.

Edit: No clue if Handbrake works with Blu-Ray.

You download handbrake to your PC. That is the program that rips the DVDs to .m4v files. You then copy them to PB, which it can play natively. Handbrake by itself does not rip commercial aka copyrighted movies. That would be illegal. There might be a post in Handbrake's forum you might find useful.

Hey, i am going to make a video tutorial via youtube on how to switch containers from .mkv to .mp4. This is tested and works on playbook so all those that have mkv movie files encoded in h.264 dont have to worry becuse this take less then 15min, with absolutely no qulity loss!! I will be making a new thread hopefully sometime tomorrow.

I also love DVD Catalyst. Supports almost every platform and great support when issues arise with troublesome DVDs.
