HEAVILY EDITED- Kris Simundson has pictures of this running on a playbook...based on that and the pictures in the link from op I believe it is working. I'm not sure that some who claim they have this version running on the PlayBook they own are really running it because what they show as proof does not match the two other source pics. I will also reference a post that said person made asking how to get back to 2.1 from 10.0.6...
"Desktop Manager fails during the software extraction phase, as does Link and blackberry.com/updates . I haven't been able to load 2.1 for about 4 or 5 months now.

The pics Kris Simundson claims to have are the pictures I posted to my Twitter account earlier today. They are the same pictures from the OP's link.

And your quote from a different thread has absolutely nothing to do with any of this.

Not trying to troll just doesn't add up especially when the picture posted on this thread does not match the others. I will gladly apologize if I am wrong, but, I'm skeptical for now...

EDIT- not so skeptical now, but, will leave post up for reference

Kris never said the pictures were his...he said from the first time he posted a picture they were someone elses.

What doesn't add up russ? Users asked about the BB10 Settings app, and Kyle provided more proof.

You are wrong, but no apology needed.
Just check my Twitter account, the link is in my signature. I'm the source of all the pics you have seen today. They all came from the same PlayBook.

Remember, without a loader to restore the Playbook to OS2.1 it will be a one way ticket to whatever shortcomings are present with BB10 leaving your device not much better than a doorstop at this time.

Apologies are in order! After owning a PlayBook for so long and reading about them being bricked by people attempting to load BlackBerry 10 os I guess I've gotten skeptical lol. That being said, pretty cool stuff. Unsure about the menu bar sizing as it looks like you lose a lot of screen....

    Kyle! Questions:

    1. How well do BB10 apps work? Install properly? How well are Cascades apps working?

    2. Is this a feasable replacement to 2.1? Can we have the best of both worlds?

    3. How is the free memory situation? Is there lag when running apps?

I'm sure we are all wanting to know. I'm hoping that BB has come up with something better.

    Thanks!

There have been PBs running BB10 since last winter. Some features weren't available but were worked out by some devs. Here's a link posted last December giving steps on how to load BB10 on a PB. Check it out.

There is no Hub, it still has the PlayBook UI. The keyboard is also the PlayBook style keyboard.

To be clear, this is not an official BB10 for PlayBook build. This is a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha OS.

    1. I will answer that when I'm done thoroughly testing. Some apps work great, others not so much. More details to come.
    2. In it's current state, this is definitely not a feasible replacement to 2.1.
    3. Native apps run fine. I haven't had any luck getting the Android Runtime to work (yet) unfortunately.

By the way, you can use Sachibar instead.
Dingleberry has some known bugs with loading BB10 OS which could result in the install failing.

R9 on Playbook isn't very useful. I did this last year. It's extremely buggy. Basically you have to make a hybrid OS with R9 and R6.

There's a really bad glitch with R9 as well. It doesn't know to turn itself off when it hits 0 percent charge so you end up with not enough power to turn the device on. It requires hours of stacked charging to get it to boot again.

Dev Alpha OS? The UI elements look way too big, the spacing isn't right and the screen is in portrait format, like on BB10 phones, compared to landscape on the PB.

I wouldn't mind this as a hack and as a pie to throw against those idiots at Waterloo. Hopefully somebody can show this to Thor Heins... if a hacker can get a BB10 variant on PB, why the hell can't BBRY?
