It will work, but verrrrrry slowly. I bought a usb car charger with a higher amp rating. It has 2 slots , one for regular charging and one for devices that require higher amperage. Works for me in a pinch and I never have to buy a car charger again.
Do a short search and you'll find many posts on this very subject. It will save a lot of repetitive threads/posts and you a lot of time checking this thread.
But in a nutshell, it won't hurt, but it's not much help. It doesn't supply adequate current to charge the PB properly. If it does, it takes forever. My 9930 charger will barely charge my PB and only when off, not in standby. The better option is to use your PB charger for the PB and phone.
