Wondering if anyone has tried this or not. I don't own a Playbook yet, but this may be the deciding factor. As I understand it if you connect the HDMI cable to your TV both audio and video are transmitted through the TV (makes sense). What I want to know is can I plug the HDMI into the TV for video and use the 3.5mm audio cable to my receiver so I can get better sound for movies ect? Wish I had a Playbook to test this out, but unfortunately I don't. If someone could test this out and report back it would be greatly appreciated.
Not what kinda of Receiver you have, but if it has HDMI in and HDMI out , you can also run it in that way , Plug the PB into the receiver via HDMI and then HDMI to the TV from the receiver .
There's an option in the HDMI menu to send audio to HDMI or not.
Simply disable and use the 3.5mm.
I have my TV shooting out Optical to receiver since my receiver doesn't have HDMI, so I don't have to do it that way. Unfortunately it's PCM only so no surround either way.
