We gave up on wallpaper, its too hard to strip. We just paint now.

Nope,no problems. Just wish I could delete the ones that came with the PB. Why are they locked?

Seriously, though, I do wish I had a solution for you...have you tried doing a reinstall of a previous backup on Desktop?

I guess the way you are trying to do that is by going to pictures folder, open Wallpaper subfolder, tap on a pic to open it, swipe from top bezel towards the centre of the screen and tap on the "set as wallpaper" located at the top right corner? If this doesn't work can you do it with a pic that you took using the steps above? If it still doesn't work then back up and wipe.

You can connect you PB to you PC (usb or wifi sharing) and delete the folder that contains the wallpapers. I did it.

I have seen that a couple times. Click set as wallpaper but it doesn't change. Reboot always fixed it.

Yes this issue has been reported before and there have been threads on it. It happens to me from time to time also and as Chaddface says a reboot always straightens it out - no need for a wipe.
