any fix for the Gmail password prompt...?

I upgraded from 4869 beta, got the password prompt after 10 minutes. did a security wipe, and reinstalled os2 2.0.7971, set up Gmail under Exchange again, 45 minutes later the prompt comes back! I also tried the unlock Captcha link 3 times and resetting the password.

Is there a fix for this? Does RIM know about this bug? I have an ancient iphone 3g and push email, calendar, and contacts, works with no problems when gmail is set using exchange.

If there's no fix, then I guess I'll sideload K-9 mail.

I thought I read that it was a security issue within gmail itself, that you need to login to gmail through browser to fix.

It's a Gmail security issue. I fixed it by enabling the two step password verification and it has been smooth sailing ever since. Again its not a playbook issue its a Gmail security issue.
