Now that Dev-Con is over and nothing of any significant came out of that week for the PlayBook, is it time for some more $200 off discounts for the PlayBook?
I think if OS 2.0 or the PlayBook2 was announced last week, then we would have seen the end of the $200 discounts for awhile.
Whatever "leapfrog ahead of the competition" was supposed to mean it is evident from the lack of announcements at BlackBerry DevCon 2011 any presumed relaunch of the BlackBerry PlayBook has been botched. No surprise really considering the lack of enthusiasm expressed by either Con-man of the Empire (CEO).
while Rome burns.
When OS 2.0 is released, the 16, 32 and 64 GB Playbook should be sold 249$, 299$ and 349$ for six months, or until they sell 1/4 the number of ipads sold. That's what you would call gaining traction And then, you can rest assured that Skype and all other major players would bend over to make sure they have access to the playbook market, which in turn would make the playbook more desirable, and therefore allow for a gradual raising of the prices towards the 399, 499 and 599$ bars.
Future shop, Staples and Sears all have 200$ gift cards with your purchase making them 299, 399 and 499. They will come back down in price. Especially after announcing the February due date for OS2
