    Default Another "no connection" post

It seems that a lot of folks out there are having the issue, it's just that none of the techniques seem to be what I need. My PC will not detect my Playbook. I've had my PB for quite a while and I waited until the update came out to try and resolve this. And, still no luck. I thought maybe the new OS would fix this issue with me but it just hasn't.
FYI: My laptop is older, so I don't have a BlueTooth connection.
My PB does tell me it is connected; it has the "Dismiss" button.
I'm running the most recent OS 2.01.358
My PB does not show up under Network, Homegroup or Computer.

I curious if maybe there is a setting on the PB that I'm missing. Any input is greatly appreciated, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks guys, you have always been a huge help.

Do you have BlackBerry desktop manager? Try delete it then re-installing the DTM.

Under Settings> Storage and Sharing, did you enable file sharing? And is the USB connections option set to auto?

Also, depending on the version of Microsoft Windows you might need to disable USB hub under the Device Manager. Do yourself a favour, download PCLinuxOS and run it within Oracle VirtualBox and access the BlackBerry PlayBook via USB (networked) from within the Konqueror file manager / web browser.

Honestly, I do not understand the failure of Research In Motion to release a version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager aka BlackBerry Desktop Software running on a QNX virtual machine which can be used with Oracle VirtualBox, VMware Player, etc. Then only one version of the software need be developed going forward. You need to have "Blackberry Desktop Software" installed on your PC, which can be downloaded from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-softwa...us:bb:Software. Once this is installed, attach your PB by USB, start the BB Desktop Software, and once it shows that it is connected, you should see your PB in "computer".

I deleted and reinstalled BB Desktop Software on my Windows 7 laptop. On the plus side, BB Desk Soft recognizes my PB, however, now it's telling me "Media Services Are Not Available Your BB Device is not Compatible With This Feature". What the ? Any new ideas, and I thank you guys very much for your input on this very frustrating situation.
