    Thumbs up Another Bridge Rescue!

An hour ago we lost our Internet connection at work. It was actually funny. Ever been in an office when the Internet went down, pandemonium! But not here. All I heard was a few grumbles and next thing you know, the PBs were out, on the network and work resumed. No time lost and everybody acted like no big deal. The best comment I heard was " Thank RIM for Bridge" LOL.

Only Blackberry has it, and that's why they hate us.

Customer just left. Was in the pilot's lounge complaining that with the Internet down he couldn't access weather. Our office manager said she would pull it up for him. He acts confused. How can you do that he asks. She walked over with her PB in hand and said with this. He had her occupied for 20min or more with questions and demos. She should be on a car lot. Upon leaving he asked her who in town carries them.

Not asking much....just maintain Bridge...new features coming to PB just take it as a BONUS from RIM...

One of the dumbest things I read was someone said if they had known before hand about bridge they would not have bought the PB. They would have bought the galaxy because they had an android device. Now when did google start bridging their tablets with their smartphones? That's what I thought. They haven't. Lmao

The latest bridge update has me happy as a clam. The auto-suggest is fixed in bridge msgs and BBM, so all is well in the universe again. It also seems more stable than before - I would lose connection with the Torch next to the PM, and then it wouldn't reconnect without removing the device. I haven't had a glitch since the update.

Bridge is great and I use it a lot but how relevant is it now given all phones, including BB with OS 7.1, can create a personal hotspot?

I can't speak for other carries but Verizon charges $20 a month for that and it is also drawn from your data plan. So yes, it's still relevant and will continue to be. Bridge is hard to beat.

Sprint charges for hotspot as well & my bill is already high enough thank you very much. I'll take the bridge any day.

I guess if your office gave you playbook as the choice of tablet, I am not surprised who they signed up for Internet.
Even in light of your unprovoked insulting post, I'll explain. Work going on at our airport, they cut our cables. Is that simple enough for you?
And as to our choice of tablet, picked because it worked better for us than anything else currently available as well as passing our security requirements. They've replaced several Toughbooks for us. After several months we have no regrets. But then I don't expect you to understand.

I wish Virgin mobile had internet teethering, i bet it really makes the playbook shine. I just like being able to access the 32g csrd in my blackberry (sincd tablet makers feel 64g is all youll ever need NOT!!!!!!, come make a 500g playbook) for my mp3s, i only wish id could play songs off the blackberry to shuffle when teethered to playbook instead of one choice at a time. Also the remote control feature is great. When you place a blackberry side by side to a playbook, it looks like a very high tech combo, but come virgin mobile usa, get some bolds and allow internet teethering

Thanks, but you didn't see my first response, before I edited it. I'm trying not to let that type bring me down to their level. I do fail sometimes

Do you pay your carrier even though it goes over the BB network? TBH im not even sure how the bb network is integrated in to the standard cellular networks. Do they own their own towers or something or just rent from other carriers.

Anyway unlimited internet is pretty cool. If i could get something like that in aus on a lte playbook that would really tempt me to upgrade when the time comes

I spent there previous two days in meetings. I sold two people on this amazing device, mostly because of the ability to bridge. One lady said she was going to Mexico on Monday and would be getting one before she left.
