I was waiting for this to happen because I saw that $189 price tag was set to expire yesterday. Woke up this morning and saw the new pricing. I am very tempted to get one, but wondering if there are going to be any black friday deals that will drop the pricing even more from Office Depot.

I just did a backorder, its giving me an "estimated arrival" date of Nov 19th. Somewhere during the order process it said 15-20 days. So, we'll see.

Perhaps this *is* the Black Friday price? Says "valid through 12/29/2012" (at which point it may drop to $99?). Could be that they just can't ship at that price until (week of?) Black Friday?

They also had a charging dock on clearance for twenty bucks.

Here in the UK I noticed last week that PC World/Curries are selling the 64GB Playbook for £129. I am very tempted to get one. Its a great deal for anyone wanting a tablet.

Props to the OP, I checked in KC area, the only OD in that area that was showing any in stock, was only 7 minutes from my daughter. She called from store saying salesman telling her on clearance for $189 - told him to check website and got it for the $149 price. Probably should have bought both they had. But at least got my wife's Christmas present - and she even said thats what she wanted - and she doesn't know I'm cheap.

I think it can get lower, as previously in the area I am located in they was selling playbooks at $70 just to clear them out of stock. I would have jump on that even it was just a 16GB playbook, but I was not around at the time this was happening.

The dates posted can change, as the $189 price had a expired date of Dec. 2012 until a couple of days ago, which leads me to think there might be one more price drop after black friday.

I have been keeping watch and thus far the single 64 GB playbook in my area is still in stock, so I holding out for the cheapest price I can get. Worse case I don't get the playbook, but then that means I will have more money for BB10 phone or phones.

I was just able to backorder one online. I also got an estimated date of arrival of November 19th. I can wait, I am in no hurry since I already have a 32 GB. I just couldn't pass it up at this price and I have been wanting to upgrade to a 64 GB. Merry Christmas to me! I will just hand over the 32 to my kids. My 14 yo will be thrilled as his iPod Touch has recently taken a crap and he can't play his games anymore.
