Was the 4G PB leak a hoax?
Its been over 24 hours since the 4G PB was rumored to drop on 7/31 and not a word from RIM... what does everyone think? Will the 4G PB launch on 7/31 @ $550?

And the Desktop Manager new update going official yesterday is also hinting at a near official release. And also if it was a hoax, wouldn't RIM respond to it and kill the false rumor once and for all? Idk just my guess.
Edit: and I'm also guessing it would be selling for less than $550 if RIM is smart enough to learn from their previous mistake. Maybe $550 would be a more suitable price tag if it were a 10" model instead of 7".Last edited by luqman24; 07-24-2012 at 08:19 PM.

I don't disagree with this, though, I don't think it was necessary to drop a leak to know that $550 is too much.
RIM's objective with the 4G PB should be to get one (or two) in every home by pricing with razor thin margins. They could generate incremental revenue with app downloads, prove to the developers that developing for BB is worthwhile, and it would naturally market and provide a ramp for BB10.
They have got to move this product. And a lot of it! - 07-24-2012, 09:34 PM #9
After a bunch of missed, self-set deadlines, good idea for RIM to not comment.

Seriously though, All RIM has to do is replace the GPU, shrink the battery, include a SIM Card slot, and somehow, configure BIS/BES to run on 2.0.1/2.1/BB10.
I don't think this tablet is going to be coming out anytime soon became RIM is going to take their time perfecting the OS. I do believe that when the new tablet is released we will get an update for the current PlayBook.
Sidenote: I think RIM shouldn't be waiting their time making a 4G version of the PlayBook; they need to concentrate on knocking MY socks off with BB10Sometimes I like rolling up into a ball and pretending that I have a potato shell with a tomato core - 07-25-2012, 06:33 AM #17
my RIM rep says it won't be released till end of September, early October... so I'm not getting my hopes up for july 31st. But seeing how fast LTE is on the ipad3, i'm getting pretty pumped for LTE on the playbook.
