3 UK bridge
EDIT: I need to edit my post cause I understand it causes some confusion
Hi to all,
I am going to buy a PB for my gf as a xmas present. She currently has a Nokia Exx series on 3UK. I tried to tether it with my PB but it didn't let me. When I searched in their website it asks for extra 5 a month for tethering. Now, when the BB10 will come out am going to give her my BB9300 so she can bridge it with her new PB using the 3UK network.
I was therefore wondering if the bridge will work for someone who is already with 3UK or if the provider has somehow imposed a restriction to bridging. I found an earlier thread (http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...etworks-728597) on a similar issue but I don't really trust the info there because 1) nobody who answered is actually using 3UK (there are only guesses) and 2) it seems that back then tethering was free from 3UK which is not the case now.
So anybody who is already with 3UK and using bridge?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: My post is a bit confusing. I ask about bridging cause when the BB10 will come out am going to give her my BB9300 so she can bridge it with her new PB using the 3UK network.

3 UK bridge
You could get a MIFI from Three UK.... It works great with the playbook... You can get them second hand and either pay around a fiver for 1GB ( which I never go over) or use a Pay as you go sim

Re: 3 UK bridge
Thanks for your reply. I didn't know about Mifi but I am rather looking for something which she will not have to pay extra every month.

Re: 3 UK bridge
I have an HTC Desire HD on 3UK with All-you-can-eat data (tethering included) and bridging to the PB will not work. I believe you need a BB phone to allow bridging to work. As an alternative, I usually enable the Wi-Fi hotspot facility on my phone and connect my PB through that.

Re: 3 UK bridge
Thanks for your reply. Bridging with PB works only with BB phones. Please see the "EDIT" in my post.

Re: 3 UK bridge
Yes you need a BB phone for bridging. Though you can try wifi hotspot, if your phone has this facility. Failing that, tether. I often use wifi hotspot on BB 9900 to use the internet on my PlayBook; tethering and bridge use bluetooth

Re: 3 UK bridge
I would think unless the carrier is like AT&T there should be no issue and if there were in would think rroyy's version would work and if not he would probably make it so it will.
