    Hi all,

Just a quick update on my brand spanking new gizmo!

I want to thank everyone on CB who helped me decide that a PB was the tablet for me. I have had it for two days now & am blown away by the power and user friendly experience of the PB.

I have used Vevo to set up video playlists, learnt how to sideload apps and installed Amazon Kindle, I have Box to store the music I have downloaded, Nobex Radio is brilliant too. I have found a Blogger app which enables me to update my blog on the go & used BBC iPlayer to watch some TV!!

I am going to learn voice controls today and how to use my BB 9360 as a remote control.
There is so much more to discover and I am loving every minute of the time I am using Gizmo (as I have started calling it).

    Stu

Grab yourself a micro HDMI cable for when you start using your phone for the remote.. It's great to connect it to your tv and use your phone to control it from the couch.

Been using mine everyday since January. One of the best parts of this tablet is that it gets upgrades to bb10. Best $200 ive ever spent.

I'm just a week in myself- and absolutely in love with it! Best tablet I ever owned & I've had all 3 'brands' - ipad, android & now a playbook. Bought on a whim with the pricedrop (64gb). I have no clue what the haters are on about - sideloading is fantastic (even though not all apps work); multitasking is incredible; build, feel, screen, camera - all fantastic! I've just ordered myself a 9320 to take it to the next level with remote & bridging (will be dumping my android phone methinks!). Plus my hdmi cable arrived yesterday, and was wowed over how great it works! My only 'complaint' is that i'm using UK English & the auto spellcheck always wants to 'americanise' the words. Plus I wish you could alter the sensitivity of the keyboard to keep up with my typing speed. But these are minors!

I had a BB some years ago - wasn't always keen - but RIM has done it, i'm in love & am glad to be back on these boards!

You can change the keyboard response. Go to Settings>Keyboard>Keyboard Feedback. Adjust the slider to suit your needs. Enjoy the pb.

Isn't that setting available just to adjust the volume for the sound the keyboard makes when you press a key (if you have the slider scrolled to the right at all)?

If you do a long press on a suggested americonized word it will give you the option to delete it. After you type it wrong then hit the space bar and it will be stored for next time.

The best news of all is you'll enjoy it more every day.

And good for you for doing some research before parting with your hard earned dollars.

I guess everyone has their own experiences, because I bought one yesterday at 7:00am, and returned it for a refund at 11:00am today after 28 hours of frustration with WiFi connection issues, email connection issues, general performance issues, and realizing that the screen is just not high enough resolution for its size (most 'small' text that would be sharp and easily readable on my 9810 is grainy and illegible on the PB).

Most frustrating experience because at $148 I *really* wanted to like the PB but was very disappointed.

That's a complaint you don't see very often.

Each of the complaints you expressed make no sense based upon the collective experiences of most members of this forum. The BlackBerry PlayBook does not work well with some older WiFi routers/access points. Which brand and model is your WiFi router/access point? What settings did you configure? I am not sure what you mean by general performance issues unless you were expecting a viagra-fueled sexual partner. Please elaborate on the specific performance issues you experienced. The screen resolution is crisp, bright, easy to read although for some people certain wallpapers make reading the text difficult. I have never observed grainy nor illegible text on my multiple BlackBerry PlayBooks. Too bad you did not upload a screen capture for us to review. All-in-all maybe this tablet is not meant for you.
