I downloaded a video on my computer that is 1080p and wanted to know if is possible to play on the playbook without it looking choppy? I've tried it before but it didn't play very well. I wonder if it's because the file itself was too long or corrupted or I have to mess with the settings. Any help?

It's possible. The Playbooks camera can record in 1080P and has no problem playing these vids.

I have no problem though it does not display in 1080p. If you use the hdmi port to a tele that supports 1080p, it will play in the format. I do it somewhat frequently with not problem. The result easily looks as good as a feed through the PS3.

In fact during the day, I even tend to pick up the PB and view movies and video on the screen rather than hooking it to the tele or bothering with the PS3.

I found on my 32 gig PB I need about 6.3+ gigs of free memory for it to do its best in processing.

Are they downloaded mkvs, streams or mp4s?
