I think it was 1710 that did it. Weird thing happened to me with 1710...originally installed it 2 days ago and, for about 24 hours, battery charging was stuck at 100%. Did a routine check for updates yesterday and ...surprise... it said 1710 was available (only 2MB in size when it is supposed to be 3MB). Anyway, I updated and all has been fine since...charges up to 100% very quickly now whereas previously it never went above 96%. Cycled through a discharge and recharge without a problem..
Mine reached 100% once, and the second time I fully charged it it was 98%. But that second time I didn't check the battery level for about 10 minutes after using it.
So for me so far no issues with charging I guess. The battery capability is pretty good and I'm not complaining.

The 2MB and 3MB updates are just to restore apps that shipped that you've deleted (NFB being the common culprit).
mine would only charge to 98% for two days in a row and then this morning it hit 100%. Yesterday was the second time i actually got a gps reading (gone again now) It almost seems like rim is trickling down updates in the background filtering little incremental fixes. Doubtful - but it is odd how this little toy is not 100% consistent in its strengths or weaknesses. Same thing happened on my wife's with pictures, no back to gallery button would appear and then out fo the blue it fixed itself.....?????
All of this sounds just a lot like minor glitches in the software. They will fix it soon. As for the battery charge, there is no difference in a 98 and 100% other than the displayed number; the battery is still fully charged.
