Default t mobile phone won't register on Rogers network

I have a unlocked 8220 that comes up T-mobile on the screen that I'm trying to register with the Rogers network so I can get my rogers.blackberry email to work. I have spoken to Rogers 4 times now and they are able to get my phone registered on their network and send me a test email and all works but then a few minutes later it doesn't again. I spoke to them tonight and they stated its only because the phone is only "partly" unlocked. If that makes sense. They told me to get a unlock code or call T mobile which I did and they stated they will not give me a code or release the IMEI from their network as I'm not the original owner. My question is is it just a matter of getting a new unlock code fully unlock my phone or is it something I have no control of because T mobile won't help me out. I did go into my SIM card and put in I believe mepp (i beleive) and all says disabled. If there are any suggestions that would be great.

Default

The only unlock code you would need would be the one to disable the SIM locks/personalization, which are already disabled according to your SIM card options screen.

After I replaced my wife's BB Flip, I was on the phone with T-Mo BB support. I asked if they would need to release the PIN before I could sell the old phone on eBay. They told me no, that a buyer could activate it on another network as long as the SIM was no longer associated with that PIN. However, we were talking about switching between two BB devices. That automatic PIN release might not occur if the previous owner upgraded to a non-BB phone.

It sounds like Rogers is able to register your PIN with their network, but T-Mobile yanks it back onto theirs. Talk to whomever you got the phone from, and have them release the IMEI from T-Mobile. You might also re-post your issue over in the T-Mobile forum, it's bound to get more views than out here in the 8220 wasteland.

Default Unlocking a Blackberry - what is it means?

There is no such thing "partly unlocked", unlocked Blackberry is unlocked for ever and for good...

When you unlock a Blackberry handset you simply remove the SIM lock from the phone, it's done by using the unique unlock code for your Blackberry which can be calculated by blackberry unlocking services remotely..

when you buy a blackberry device you get it from a carrier with a branding and one of the things that included is the sim lock which makes the phone locked to the use of the carrier it's branded with.. when you unlock your phone the sim lock is removed once and for all.. there is no need to re-unlock it (even if wiped) and it can work with any GSM sim card that will fit the device.. you should have calls and SMS working right away...

About data services, well it's not related to the unlocking but you must have the service books and the Blackberry data plan to fit your carrier so you can have everything working...
