SMS and Message Icon locked

I made a few changes, just trying to get my message records right, and now my SMS and Message icons are not opening their respective applications. IM, browser, everything else works. The small notification symbol that I have text messages is in the top left corner but I cannot access them. Its like those particular icons seem like they are locked. Any help would be appreciated.

What model is the phone and where did it come from? Did you buy it new? My guess is that the phone was on a BES and those features were locked down bt the BES admin of the previous owner. This can be turned off (check the "How to remove an IT Policy" thread). Obviously if your phone is on a BES and the BES admin has locked it down then removing the policies would likely be a fireable offense.
