sim card issue with 8220

My mother inlaw recently bought a 8220 pearl. when she inserts her att sim card all she gets is SOS. I tried the piece of plastic sim card wedge thing but it doesnt seem to work. Now I insert my sim card from my phone or my wifes sim card and it works fine and insert my mother inlaws sim card in my phone my phone gets the SOS. My wife went and got her a new sim card same issue ... I know its her sim card but shes tried 2 different ones but they dont work what can be the issue?

I might need a new sim card. I had the same problem and had to get a new one. I don't remember ATT ever having an 8220

You need to unlock your Blackberry so it can get signal with carriers other than the one it's branded with.

T-Mobile carries the 8220, at least here in Texas.
