I'm guessing that the phone was completely dead (off, and not in bedside mode) when you unplugged it from it's charger. Was the phone hot to the touch when you unplugged it ? I had the same thing happen to me, except I wasn't putting the phone into bedside mode when I started charging overnight. It would not turn on and a battery pull did not help. I was fortunate to have an extra battery in a wall charger and when I put it into my phone it booted up normally. The battery I had charging in the phone went into the wall charger and to this day is working just great. I really can't tell you what it was that caused that to happen because just like you I followed the same routine with my phone every night. The only thing I do differently now is manually put the phone in bedside mode at night when I plug it in.

If you don't have an extra battery, be sure the phone is off and try re-charging it with the phone. If that do'es not work I'd try a different battery.

Where is the beside option you are talkingg about at?? My husband has this phone and he pulled the battery out just about 30 min ago and it will not come on at all and it has the red light come on and it will not power on. He has it on charge now trying to charge it because maybe the battery is dead but it doesn't seem to be helping really but I am willing to try anything at this point because he is polise officer and works the night shift and I worrty if he does not have a phone if something happens. Thanks.

Default Sorry, I haven't checked the forums lately

Queen, sorry I didn't answer before this. Bedside mode is an application that is included on all Blackberries with ver 4.6 or later software. It allows you to control what the phone responds to at night while you sleep (ie: phone will ring for calls but not for email, or you can turn off the phones notification light so it won't bother you at night, etc)

If you Google "Blackberry bedside mode" on your computer it will take you to many links and videos explaining what it is and how to set it up on your phone.

I don't think either I, or the OP that had the same problem as you were affected by being in bedside mode or not, I think we were dealing in a overheated battery and it just needed to cool and recharge.

If I were you I would buy an extra battery for your husbands phone (cost $2 to over $20 online, and remember to get OEM original equipment manufacture parts) That will give you a backup if this ever happens again.
