Power down issue

Hello again, my wife told me a short time ago that her phone powered down and shut off without touching a thing with the phone, she pulled the battery to hard boot it and she had to do that three times before the phone powered back up. She also told me that it happened one time yesterday also. What could be causing this to happen.

If the battery is more than a year old, the most likely explanation is the battery is about at the end of its useful life. If the battery is relatively new and appears to charge normally, in about the same amount of time as it normally takes, then something else is amiss. Has she installed any new apps or themes or upgraded her OS? Can you identify anything else that changed around the time the battery problem appeared?
