Unhappy Please help! My phone is nuked.

This morning I woke up to a nuked phone. I am not sure what happened to it. It was working fine before I went to sleep, I plugged it in to the charger as usual and this morning when I got up it had a white screen with an error message.

It then went into the typical reboot cycle of doom. The red LED light would turn on and then the screen would turn white, then the device would turn off (repeat until you have ripped out all of your hair).

I spent some time googling how to fix the issue and I stumbled across the article here on Crackberry about how to fixed the nuked phone issue. I followed all of the steps and everything seemed to be going just fine. Until right at the end when it seemed the entire process had been completed, it just slipped right back into the reboot cycle.

I have not downloaded any apps for this phone, I have not dropped it, got water on it or done any intentional upgrades. I do know that sometimes Rogers does upgrades remotely. I called them and they told me they could not help me.

So please, I am at a loss! What can I do to fix this issue?

Feel free to email me at a.mcilmoyl@hotmail.com

The battery has a safety circuit to shut it down when it is fully discharged. Remove the battery, let it sit a while, then re-install it and put it on a charger.

With a bit of luck, it will take a charge and return to normal.

Hey,

I tried to take the battery out. I let it sit for about 10 minutes before putting it back in. That also didn't work.

I also phoned Rogers and followed their directions and they couldn't fix it.

Are you still using the original battery? My phone started acting up a few weeks short of the 2 year mark. Halved battery life, then sporadic reboots, and finally the red blink of defeat. That's when I noticed the battery door was bulging. Batteries, like fish, bloat when they die.

I'm with Hubermania, |You may have a bad battery. This is easy to test, go to a phone store and ask them if you can borrow a battery, it your phone boots, buy a new battery.

Default The phone is dead.

Already checked the battery. That was the first thing I checked. Also, no it isn't the original battery and yes I tried it with a different battery.

The phone has NO operating system on it anymore and it will not connect to any computer no matter how I have tried. I've had several people look over it. It's dead. It killed itself.

Rogers has agreed to send me a new phone though as they agree it is most definitely a manufacturers issue.
