Nuked Blackberry problems

Yesterday, my Blackbery Pearl Flip was working, fine, I texted my friend outside of his house and then we went to eat dinner. By the time we got to the restaurant, my Blackberry was nuked.

I tried to use the 101 thread
But, it doesn't work for me. I did everything it said to do, but at the point where it says to connect the Blackberry, I don't get a COM1 option to connect to, and when I plug in my Blackberry to get a Pin:UNKNOWN to make it work, I instead get a regular pin number. When I try to use that, it won't connect. Can anyone help me get my phone up and running again?

If you have a pin that's connected download and run the latest softwear update from you carrier. The fact you got a pin is a good thing. You just have to reload the os.

So, I'm not alone!! This just happened to me last week:

So my BlackBerry Pearl flip 8230 just went Black when I hit "send" to reply to an email! Only sign of life is the red light that sometimes flashes on for a few seconds and then off. The Service reps @ Bell said my phone was fried! I've only had it 18 months! I still have another 18 months left on my contract with Bell...don't want to have to purchase another BB so soon...not very impressed!

I tried the above, I am able to get past the "USB-PIN: UNKOWN", however I can't get past "Device Application" window, as nothing shows up under "Application Name", etc., just says there are no applications!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi you could try either of the below,

Connect the bb to pc with usb,connect to app loader,then leave the usb in the bb and do a battery pull,when you put the battery back in it may complete booting up to the home screen.

or

Download an older os than the one you were running and try to downgrade the os,it may recognise the applications there.

Hope something works for you,you could even try to wipe the bb with bbsak and reload from there.

Thanks for your reply, Highlander. I did try that already, as per the "Nuked 101" lesson. I also downloaded the original BB OS - 4.7 - for my BB Pearl. Problem is: No device application is present to upload! Tried the battery pull too. Still, just a little flash of the red light, off & on, off & on....is my BB in a coma?? lol...although I shouldn't be!
